When trry to access to VM Win Serv 2012 R2 received certificate error "The certificate has been revoked and is not safe to use'.

Hello team,

I am unable to access to one of my VM using OS Windows Server 2012 R2.

When I type my credentials, I received the error below:

"The certificate has been revoked and is not safe to use".

The certificate autodiscover.msftsupport.us is not in use for this server.

 Certificate error

When I try to connect from the DC using the RD Licensing Diagnoser I received the error below:

How to issue a self-signed certificate to match Remote Desktop Gateway server address requested

I have an RDG server named gw.domain.local with port 3389/tcp forwarded fromgw.example.com.

Using RDGM snap-in I created a self-signed SSL certigicate with FQDN gw.example.com.

But when I connect over RDP from outside the local network I'm getting an error:

Your computer can't connect to the computer because the Remote Desktop Gateway server address requested and the certificate name do not match

Because certificate subject name is gw.domain.local indeed.

So there question is: how to issue a certificate properly, or how to assign an existing one the name to match?

Windows Server 2012 DC - RDS - "Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because an error occurred"

Hello,

I have recently setup RemoteApp and a RD Gateway on a 2012 R2 DC server.  I have the 4 roles split out between 6 different servers. So 1 broker, 1 RD Gateway, 1 RD Web Acccess, and 3 Session Hosts.

As of Monday this week, everything worked fine with the Gateway Server.  The Web Access server's site is accessible internally and externally, launch RDP sessions successfully, as well as connect RemoteApps that I have deployed via the web feed.  The only piece missing is when I attempt to click on a RemoteApp Program from the site I get the error "RemoteApp Disconnected - Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because an error occurred on the remote computer that you want to connect to. Contact your Network Administrator for assistance."

No error logs are created on either the server side or client side.  As far as I can tell my setup is correct according to technet articles that I have followed in order to get everything up and running.

One note, the RemoteApp Programs work fine internally if I check the box "Bypass RD Gateway server for local addresses."  With this unchecked the RemoteApps fail to launch internally with the same error.

The only changes that were made since Monday were a fourth Session Host server was added which was a cloned in Vmware from another Session Host in the environment and new RAP and CAP were created on the RD Gateway server.

All of the VM's were restored using a backup that was taken Monday night before the shenanigans started.  Our client machines are running Windows 7 Enterprise and the RDP client has been updated to 8.0.

I have read through the forums as well as explored the net and have yet to find a solution.

Thanks,

Erik

Issue with RDWEB services

I am able to connect to all servers using RDP internally. I am able to setup a VPN connection and RDP to all servers from externally. I am able to use the RDWEB method and access all applications available to me internally. I am able to use the RDWEB session externally and connect with all applications available to me. When I click on an application which then creates the RD session with the server the application resides on this also works.

This is where I am stumped... After the application launches, it then stops working and tries to re-initiate connection. It does this 2 or 3 times reconnecting each time for about 10 seconds each time. Then it stops and I can see in Remote Desktop Services Manager that the session is disconnected. Then if I try to open an application again I get the following message: Your computer cannot connect to the remote computer because an error occurred on the remote computer that you want to connect to. Contact your network administrator for assistance.

The only difference between internally connecting (which is stable) and externally connecting is our Firewall. Is there any reason it would allow traffic through and then not allow. Any help would be appreciated....

Delay react in pop up windows with Outlook as Remote App on RDS Farm

Hello All,

I have mange to configure outlook 2013 as a remote app on my RDS Farm.

Everything seems to work fine although when I open a new message window inside the outlook, it seems to freeze for a few seconds and and I cannot type anything on that window.

Same with new meeting window, Email windows and so on.

Anything else works fine especially on the main Outlook window.

It seems that when I open a windows inside the Outlook it take some time to react.

Nothing to do with Hardware performance because I have only 3 Users on that server at the moment.

Maybe something to do with mouse courser rendering or redirecting that make it slow?

I have already minimize to 16 bit experience with GPO.

any Idea what make the Outlook pop up windows to be delayed with the react?

  Thanks in advance

2012 R2 RDS Solution Across AD Sites

$

Just wondering if anyone can confirm or deny that we can add additional 2012 R2 RDS Servers (Connection Brokers, Session Hosts, License Servers and Web Access) to an existing solution if they're in a different AD site?

We are extending an existing 2012 R2 RDS solution across to a second Data Centre and might not be able to stretch the VLANs across. This will give us a new AD Site with different IP Subnet(s) and I'm not sure if we can add servers from this new site to the existing Farms/Collections?

Cheers for now

User Profile Disk not being created

Hi,

I created a new 2012 VDI collection. Things seems to be working fine except for the User Profile Disks are not being created. From my understanding a .vhdx prefixed with the user's SID is supposed to be created when the user logs into one of the virtual machines from the collection. I can see that a UVHD-template.vhdx" was created correctly but when logging on to one of the deployed virtual machines from the pool there is no  other .vhdx files (except the template).

From what I've read the virtualization hosts must have write access to the share (they do).  I can't seem to find any other requirements. I've searched through event viewer and found nothing. I'm not sure which logs to check on which server.

Anyone have any ideas what I'm missing?

Building a Windows 8.1 Gold Image for VDI

This question may become more of a discussion in the end as I'm after guidance, but we'll see how it goes. I'm in the process of adding pooled VMs to my existing RDS session based environment. The current environment runs on Windows 2012 R2 uses SCCM 2012 R2 and AppV 5 SP2 for all application deployments ... works perfectly. I would like to leverage this existing delivery mechanism on the pooled VM deployment as well, targeting the applications to the user on the VM rather than the VM itself. I'm planning to use Windows 8.1 x64 as my guest OS and I'm looking for guidance on building a good gold image. I would like to include the SCCM, AppV and SCEP clients in the image along with my Office 2013 AppV package. Can any one offer some guidance or resources to look at. Bing hasn't been very helpful (or perhaps I'm not asking the right question of it).

Thanks.

RDS 2012 R2 - Outlook - RemoteApp - Credentials Window Hidden

We have deployed a 2012 R2 RDS Farm with RemoteApp(s) published via RDWEB but have encountered an issue with Outlook.

The application launches and operates correctly but when the users are required to authenticate with the Exchange Server the credentials dialogue window is not visible.

If I access Outlook via an RDP session directly on the server desktop, the credentials box pops up and can be populated accordingly.

It appears that when Outlook is launched as a RemoteApp the credentials popup window is hidden/no visible.

Has anyone else encountered this issue?

Poor Application Performance after adding RDS Role

Hi Everyone,

I have a Server 2012R2 VM running on Hyper-V 3.0 which performs poorly in one certain application after the RDS role is installed. This application works well under RDS 2008R2 and Terminal services server 2003. We have tested it on the same hardware and the only thing we can find is that the poor performance starts as soon as you add the RDS role. (It is perfectly fine before hand - when testing RDP'ing/console directly to server)

The application is installed locally, and it is run as an .EXE file with a workstation component. We have tried installing the application manually through control panel and just by clicking the installer and it makes no difference. If you remove RDS and restart the server, the performance is much better.

Thanks

Chris

RDS 2008R2 : RemoteApp Program - Remote Desktop

$

Hello,

I'm able to use all of my RemoteApp programs when I'm connected through the RDS site on my internal network.

When I connect externally, all published applications work fine that I installed on the server.  On the RD Session Host server tab on the Gateway I have 'Show a remote desktop connection to this RD Session Host server in RD Web Access' checked.  I also have it checked on the Web Access servers.  The Remote Desktop (Published Desktop) of the Web Access servers works fine internally, but I error out when accessing it remotely.

When I click the icon to launch (while connected remotely) I see the internal farm name and the external name of the gateway is not present.  I'll press connect and get an error: Remote Desktop can't find the computer "my farm name" This might mean that "my farm name" does not belong to the specific network.  Verify the computer name and domain that you are registering to connect to.

How do I get this remote app to use my SSL connection and RD Gateway and not try to resolve the name locally on my externally connected machine?

I found this post, it solved the problem of using the Remote Access tab on my RDweb site, but I'm trying to fix the RemoteApp.

How to set up remote desktop licensing mode in windows server 2012

$

Hi,

I've deployed yesterday a windows 2012 server (RTM) and set up the license server for my 10-CAL licenses. That's ok.

But I can not see a way to point my server to see the license server. Every time I log in, I receive a message that the RD services will expire in 119 days.

Using the diagnosis tool it says that licensing mode isn't set up.

Where I can find the tool to set up this licensing mode? In windows server 2008 this question was asked in the setup wizadr.

Thanks a lot!

MC3190 - RDP audio increase volume

Hello,

I have a web application running on windows server 2008 R2.

Then I have another windows server 2008 R2 which is this server will be the host PC which my web app is accessed through RDP in MC 3190 RF scanner with Windows CE 6.0. I configured the server to enable the audio remote so that if a client remote this server, they can here the sound. I have tried to remote using my windows 7 PC and can hear the sound loud and clear.

However, my problem is when I use the RDP from my MC 3190 RF scanner with Windows CE 6.0, the audio volume is very low (almost cannot hear the sound). Is there any way to increase the RDP audio volume MC 3190 with Windows CE 6.0?

RD Gateway bypass local address -- what are the rules behind?

$

I configured a RDS deployment with RD Gateway. All servers are in network xx.xxx.125.x.

I then select in RD Gateway to "bypass local addresses".

However when I tried to launch a desktop in broker, using laptop with network xx.xxx.125.x, it requires RD Gateway verification.

But when I tried to do the same in the same laptop but with another network xx.xxx.122.x, it shows no authentication for RD Gateway.

Anyone familiar with the RD Gateway 'local address' rules care to share some light please?

Thanks very much :-)

Microsoft VDI Pooled Workgroup VMs

I'm trying to create pooled workgroup VMs. That means that the VMs that the VDI pool creates wouldn't be domain joined. Is this possible?

Also, does anyone have any working syspreped Windows 7 SP1 answer file? Every time I try, I get an error "vdi unable to retrieve the details of the virtual desktop collection". I have removed the top line shown below as some threads mentioned but I still get the error. I've tried this using the GUI, would doing it through powershell make a difference?

Thanks!
